Constant “Sign in with Apple ID” Prompt

I’ve been having an issue on my phone for the last month or so with frequent sign in prompts.

iPhone 14 Pro Max running iOS 16.5

Has occurred before and after iOS update. I’ve tried everything recommended by Apple support and Apple store including full restart as new, reset all settings, delete and download all apps again, sign out and back in, etc. I do not have a VPN or anything indicating an issue with my account. I’ve don’t everything short of replacing the phone. It occurs on several apps and in purchase history. No matter how many times I enter my password or click cancel, it shows back up.

Occurs randomly. Sometimes it pops up every 20-60 minutes. Sometimes it doesn’t pop up for a day or two.

Apple support is working with engineers to troubleshoot.

My guess is an issue with iTunes or App Store since I used to have a different iCloud account on this phone. The problem Apple ID was only used for the App Store and it popped up. I now only have the one Apple ID that is messing up.

Has anyone else experienced this? And if so, how did you resolve it?

Thank you!

I’ve been having the exact same problem with the exact same phone and operating system and it’s very annoying. I’ve also tried everything, but nothing works.

I have the same problem. I talked to Apple support, and they had me reset settings, which messed up my IPhone and Macbook being in sync with each other. I was no longer getting text messages sent to my Macbook's message app. I had to do a live chat with Apple support, twice. And it's still not fixed, I still get the pop-up box to sign in to Apple ID. It's been a headache. Have you gotten a solution to this problem yet? By the way, I get the pop-up box for the first three options, Personal Information, Sign-In & Security, and Payment & Shipping, the other options, I'm always signed to.

The only way I was able to resolve this was to enable iCloud Backup and pay monthly service fee, gee thanks Apple … NOT.

When I turned iCloud backup on I got prompted to pay and to merge accounts. After that all worked … just another Apple scam to extract more money.

I had the problem after Apple added app specific pass words and then microsoft did an Microsoft update. Now the apps using ICloud kept asking me to log in, prompting the two factor authentication, after completing it correctly the device I was using the ICloud on kept telling me to keep the device that approves the login close connected to wifi or blue tooth, etc., etc.. Only to start the whole process again, once the cycle of login and pop-up was completed. So this is what worked for me on how to solve it. On the Apple ID login page, go to your trusted devices. Remove all the devices resembling the one that is in a login loop. Then go back to the device that should have been a trusted device and there log in to your ICloud app, with the same ID as the apple ID you just cleaned. And magic or not, but authentication suddenly works again and the loop closes.

Probably you have multiple Apple IDs for Multiple Services.

Use the same Apple ID each time you sign in. Use for all Apple services like App Store, iCloud, iMessage and FaceTimeone Apple ID

This happens when you use the right apple ID and password for the right country you are in, but for some reason Apple in its wisdom wants you to upgrade something using a different country's apple ID. You have to just give in and give it the password for the apple ID it is asking for.

The reason that I asked was because my wife gets this prompt constantly and she is not using 2FA. The only thing that I can think of is that is tied to the fact that you used to have another Apple ID for iCloud.

This probably is a problem best suited to Apple Support to sort out.
