I have read that MacBook Pro 2009 can't go Farer that El Capitan 10.11.
Now my question is, what happens if I trying to install a newer Version; say Big Sur 11?
Because I haven't been able to install any app on the MacBook which is sad....
If you want an operating system later than El Capitan, you need a new/er Mac that supports Big Sur:

You can't install a later OS version ,you have very few options.
Honestly speaking, some kinds of magic tricks you can install later one, but it will not give you same experience as genuine one, however, EL Capitan is not bad, you can try on VMware Fusion, to run latest version, by downloading and installing it.
