Blink alert sound

I can’t hear my Blink security system alerts, can’t change the sound on my iPhone 14.

Well along the same lines of the persons comment above, it’s the Blink Security Camera app… the notification sound use to be loud after iOS 17 update it now changed to a sonar ping and is so faint you can barely hear it. How am I suppose to know if someone is breaking into my house if I can’t change the tone and make it louder? Blink says it’s on apple

I have the same problem and it is making Blink useless. Maybe Apple has a vested interested in some other security cam company so did this deliberately. In any case, I did send a complaint in the Product Feedback that you provided, but I note they only have iOS16.? as the most recent one you can complain about. Maybe that will update soon.

Hello ~ I have Blink as well and iOS 17 has made it virtually useless. It is not Blink issue it is an iOS 17 issue. You cannot hear the notification now. I would suggest going here by clicking on to let Apple know…

Hello ~ Yes, I am sure that will be updated to iOS 17 as well. I do not think it is anything along the lines of anything against Blink in particular as other notification sounds have been affected as well.

Oh that is interesting ("other notification sounds have been affected"). I'll have to check all of them and see which ones I might have to be aware of. I probably depend on my phone way too much. :-)

I’ve noticed the same problem with my blink system, no alarm notifications when a camera detects motion and turns on. It’s not alarming my IPhone, my wife’s IPhone and neither of our IPads. This started about a month ago. I have reset everything at least a dozen times and nothing has corrected it. The alarm not working makes the system useless to me.

I spoke too soon. IOS 17.2.1 did add Default Alerts in Sounds and Haptics, but it doesnt allow me to change the BLINK sound. Now there is a new Blink sound (not 'Rebound") and I can't find it anywhere on the phone and not customizable. I'll reach out to Apple again.

I spoke with Apple support today they expect to fix to come out for the Blink notifications sound by the end of the month.

Apple fixed the issue on ~25 Dec 2023. In iOS 17.2.1, select Settings, Sounds and Haptics and Default Alerts. You can now customize third party apps. Thanks Apple for listening to us!
