Playlist question

I started in on the first song in one of my many playlists. Stupid me I tapped the screen while the song was playing. A horizontal line of options made an appearance near the top of the screen. Out of curiosity I finger tapped the left most option. (Looking like two light green arrows chasing each other around in a circle.) From that moment on my i pod nano has refused to move along from one song to the next. No matter which song I select on the same playlist. No matter how far down on the playlist. I keep hearing the same song, over and over, and over, ad nauseum. I tried shutting down my device and starting it up again. Waste of time. Advice? Suggestions?

My guess is that there is a very small 1 in between the arrows, which means that you have turned on the Repeat 1 function (you probably tapped the icon twice, see below). Tap the icon again to turn it off.

The usual cycle for the Repeat function is:

    • Off - each song plays until the list has been fully played
    • Repeat - (the arrows should change colour) each song plays and once all songs have been played, the same list plays again
    • Repeat 1 - when the current song ends, the same song plays again (there is a small, 1 in between the arrows)
    • Off - the function has been turned off
