Hey there and welcome to Apple Support Communities bertfrommo,

We can certainly understand your concern and are here to help.

We would like to ask you a couple of questions in order to get a better understanding. First, are you using Wi-Fi or an ethernet connection? If Wi-Fi, have you tried connecting to an ethernet cable? Second, have you checked the date and time of the computer? If the date and time is incorrect, you will have these type of error messages. Finally, have you tried using a different network to connect? Sometimes a routing issue with the current ISP can keep you from being able to contact the right servers needed for the install to continue

While you gather that information, check out this link for other way to install the OS: Create a bootable installer for macOS - Apple Support

We thank you for your answers, they will help guide us to the next troubleshooting step.

Kindest regards!
