Is anyone actually happy that apple is canceling "my photo stream"?

No one here in this user-to-user forum would know why Apple has made a particular choice. You can let them know your thoughts on the matter here:

It's my understanding that the feature is being deprecated because it isn't used very much anymore and has been superseded by other features. It was also rather confusing for many people. Personally, I don't care.

My Photo Stream had several drawbacks:

• Photos from iOS devices were a lower resolution
• No Live Photos
• No Videos
• Only stored for 30 days
• Editing Photo Stream photo did not update original
• No Apple Watch support

The only positive was that is was free. You can avoid all these limitations by importing the photos to the Mac for free or using iCloud Photos. It's just not that big of a deal for me. I always use Live Photo when taking pictures which never showed up in the Photo Stream along with any Videos that I took.

How do you know want their customers really want? I understand you know what you want, but Apple have more data to work with, like the relative use of all their services. If you're not happy with what you're paying for Apple good and services you're perfectly entitled to purchase other good and services if you prefer.
