Support.Apple -1005F

Someone tried to erase my friends MacBook Air and I get this error code -1005F

If you erased the Mac and need to use Internet Recovery, and if that results in the -1005F error, it means the Mac is unable to contact Apple's recovery servers. The most common reason is no Internet connection. Try another wireless access point if one is available.


If you are certain the Internet (wireless) connection is viable and the Mac is still unable to connect, the next best way to install macOS would be to create a standalone USB installer: Create a bootable installer for macOS - Apple Support. You will need another Mac capable of running that macOS version to be able to create it.
