i can receive using my custom domain on apple mail but i cannot send
I have recently moved my custom domain email to icloud+ and can now receive email to it there. However, I still cannot send using that email. What am I missing in my setup?

The first thing to check is that you've completed the steps from Use a custom email domain in Mail on Mac for setup and configuration of that service.
Outgoing messages are transported via the SMTP settings for your account or device. If not able to send from the custom domain addresses, it will be necessary to review or create SMTP settings for that email address. As these are tied to your iCloud+ subscription, the iCloud SMTP settings listed at iCloud Mail server settings for other email client apps should work:
"SMTP information for the outgoing iCloud Mail server
- Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
- SSL Required: Yes
- If you see an error message when using SSL, try using TLS or STARTTLS instead.
- Port: 587
- SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
- Username: Your full iCloud Mail email address (for example, johnappleseed@icloud.com, not johnappleseed)
- Password: Use the app-specific password that you generated when you set up the incoming mail server."
