My Photo Stream Shutdown. Apple's instructions are far from clear. It's not an idiot's version.
This is what Apple wrote to me. My questions or comments are in Bold.
This is a reminder that My Photo Stream is scheduled to be shut down on 26 July 2023 at 12:00pm PT. As part of this process, new photo uploads to the service will be stopped on 26 June..... If you already have iCloud Photos enabled on all your devices, you do not need to do anything else — your photos are already stored in iCloud. To check on your Mac, choose > System Settings > your name > iCloud. From there, simply make sure that Photos is enabled in your iCloud Settings.
On my Mac I see an Apple Logo in the upper left hand corner of the screen. When I click on it, I see no "System Settings". I see instead "System Preferences". Is this the same thing?
Under "System Preferences" if I click my name, nothing happens. If I click on my photo, all I get is a series of options (such as Memoji, Emoji etc) to alter my picture. So if I just look in the section where my name appears I only have two options "Apple ID" and "Family Sharing". So, where is iCloud?
If I click on "Apple ID" I can find an iCloud option below my name. The option "Photos" is ticked. I don't see any option called "Photo Stream". Am I good to go?
