Sold AppleWatch and Buyer Says it's Still Linked to Me

Before I sold my apple watch, I cleared and restored to factory on my phone, deleted the app. It's still attached to my appleID, so I removed from my account via My Devices in icloud, but didn't erase as they're still showing on the watch that it's under my appleID. Since I've removed from my account, I don't see the watch anywhere in my account so I'm lost as to how it's linked anywhere to me. How can I remove the Activation Lock for them?

Whatever you do, absolutely NEVER provide any of your AppleID credentials to the purchaser.

If it is no longer in your account in https://icloud.com/find or in Find My app or in iPhone Settings, [your name], then it is no longer linked to your ID.

Maybe they are trying to get you to give a refund fraudulently.

Thank you. I'm hoping someone has an answer for when you've already sold your Apple Watch and removed it from your account - it's gone. I have no access to the AppleWatch in my iCloud, phone, or anything. I have no access to it, yet the buyer is saying he gets a message on the iWatch that it's linked to my account. It makes no sense.

Thank you, but this doesn't work when the device is no longer listed in iCloud or under your appleID. I've already removed from my account.
