Multiple Credit Card Holds

Just wanted to share my experience recently with Apple Pay as an FYI. I was replacing my Apple Watch through the Support app on the iPhone which has a $69 charge. Part of this includes a $587 hold on your card until Apple gets the original watch back...totally understandable.

What didn't work so great was when I went to pay through Apple Pay, I received an error message. It looked like the address wasn't populating, so I tried to remedy and continued to get the error. Finally I manually typed in the card number and address and it went through. However, in this process, I saw that there were a total of 9 holds on two credit cards (I tried two) for approx. $4,500.

While these are pending transactions, I was informed it may take 30 days to fall off. Just be aware that if you are buying something from Apple through Apple Pay, and the transaction doesn't go through, you may still see a pending charge for the hold. If you try multiple times and get errors, there may be multiple holds on your card(s) which can add up pretty quickly!
