iCloud for Windows Contacts/Calendar Sync for Outlook 365 is broken

I'm running:

  • Windows 11 Home (22H2)
  • Outlook 365 (Version 2306 Build 16.0.16529.20002)
  • iCloud for Windows (Version 14.2.96)

I have Outlook configured for iCloud to send/receive mail which works correctly. I've installed the Outlook for Windows utility, checked the "Contacts and Calendar With Outlook" option, and opened Outlook, and don't see my iCloud contacts or calendars anywhere. In Outlook I went to File > Slow and Disabled COM Add-ins and saw that the iCloud Outlook Add-in was disabled with a message saying "This add-in caused Outlook to crash. As a result, it was disabled.". I reenabled it, restarted Outlook and I still didn't see my calendars or contacts from iCloud. I even unchecked "Contacts and Calendar With Outlook" clicked Apply waited a few seconds, rechecked clicked Apply, reopened Outlook and I still don't see my iCloud contacts or calendars.

Unfortunately none of these steps work with the latest iCloud for Windows and Windows 11 Version 22H2 x64.

Only reverting to old version iCloud for Windows 7.21.0.23 seems to work, but this version does not support bookmarks and passwords in MS Edge.

Hi _mcr_,

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Community. We suggest ensuring that iCloud isn’t set as your default account in Data Files.

When iCloud is set as your default account in Data Files, your data won't sync between your devices.
1. Select File > Info > Account Settings > Data Files.
2. If iCloud is listed as the default account in the Comments column, select a different account.
3. Select Set as Default.
After you've tried these steps, restart your computer.

- If you can’t add iCloud Mail, Contacts, or Calendars to Outlook

Hope that helps!

I have the same issue too. I’m running Windows 11 Pro for Workstations Edition, version 22H2; outlook version 2306 and iCloud for windows version 14.2.108.0.

iCloud contacts in outlook was working fine for about a year until I noticed the problem a few days ago. iCloud contacts would not show up in Outlook and I couldn’t search the contacts in outlook as well. But, the icloud add-on is listed as active in outlook. I am currently running Office suite version 2306. I rolled back the office suite of 2304 to check if the issue would resolve but, the issue still persisted. Got, in touch with Microsoft support yesterday and today. Tried installing outlook and icloud in a different PC and still the same problem would occur.

I will also reach out to apple support to see what resolution they would provide for this. I will post when I have further updates on the issue.
