Side eye emoji request for iPhone

Apple is not responsible for emojis, the Unicode Consortium is.

😒 is less efficient because it is more for being unamused, unimpressed, or uninterested. While something like the side eye showed as an example up above perfectly creates the feeling of side eyeing someone when they say something sus.

The folks you do want to ask: the Unicode Emoji Committee. Emoji are part of an international standard known as Unicode, and the Unicode standard is implemented by many different vendors, including Apple.

If you believe the existing side-eye emoji to be insufficient, you will want to submit your proposal for a new side-eye emoji to the Unicode Emoji Committee for consideration. Here is how:

If your emoji proposal is approved, your new side-eye emoji would then be included in some future version of the Unicode standard, and which Apple and myriad other vendors would then implement it.

No they can’t.

The Unicode Consortium decides what is or isn’t an emoji.
