Refer to the attached screenshot...I visited a site that seems to have caused this notification to pop up every 5 minutes. Clicking "Show" brings you to a website.
How can I stop this from happening? (aside from just turning off notifications)

Go to Safari Settings > Websites > Notifications. Then remove any listed there. This is an attempt to solicit you to purchase anti-virus that isn't at all needed in macOS.
