How do I disable the lock key on the Magic keyboard, which is placed (ridiculously) just above the delete key.

My external keyboard failed after just two years last week, so I ordered a new one from Apple. On this one, a lock key is at the upper right, just above the delete key. I've already locked my computer 5 times today and am getting frustrated by how much this slows me down.

Some questions:

For Apple: Who designed this and is a replacement being considered that takes into account normal user behavior? I want to be on the list to be alerted when that replacement is available. Also, do you have a process for listening to user feedback? This appears to have been a significant source of annoyance in 2021, yet I was shipped a new keyboard with the same problem in June 2023.

For users: I jammed the end of a twistie under the offending key, which disables it and is a reversible fix. Are there better solutions. I see from a discussion two years ago that there's an application I could download, but I'd prefer not to do that, as the developer appears to want access to all activity.
