Itunes on new OS

I have a rather large Itunes library, which I am still running on Mojave 10.14.6. I've been reluctant to upgrade my OS for fear of how this might affect my library. Fox example, will I still be able to add to the library from all sources including uploading from cd's and from Youtube-video-to-MP3 conversions? I would like to upgrade my OS but don't want to lose thousands of tracks.

Any advice? thanks in advance

A while back, I was reluctant too, but I did the macOS upgrade and everything works fine. Just be aware that iTunes is now called Music and you sync and backup your iPhone using the finder. You should see the macOS 10.15 Catalina and later section in:

Move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Community

and:

to understand the new library layout. You may need to option-start-Music the first time you open it to access the iTunes Library.itl file and migrate it into Music. You should also see:

It is always advisable to make a backup of your library just in case. See the 'If you have a Mac' (and others) section in:
