Codes plus emails goin to lost phone

I lost my iPhone11 so I purchased another iPhone11 with the same exact number. Now when I try to get into my goggle account or google mail I go thru all the steps then I’m being told that a code has been sent to me but no code has been sent to my new iPhone with the exact same number. I assume that the code is being sent to my old iPhone with the exact same number. How do I get everything sent to the same number but to my new phone??

Phone numbers are supposed to be unique for cellular phones. SIM and eSIM shouldn’t have duplicates (for phones). You can’t have another iPhone with the same exact number.


Emails are unrelated to devices, and can be received on any devices configured to access that mailbox. For POP3 however (unlike IMAP), in standard setup, the first device that retrieves the massages also sends a delete-from-server command.


Block the other phone through Find My, if that was set active.

Verification codes for two-factor authentication for Google can be managed with the Google Authenticator app.
