Apple Pencil issues

I just got a new iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. The pencil is skipping and sometimes won’t write. I have checked tip and changed tip, battery, sync Bluetooth, rebooted iPad. No improvement

Hi Lollamitchell,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. We understand your Apple Pencil is not working properly. It sounds like you've done some good troubleshooting so far. You may also want to unpair from Bluetooth and pair it again to see if the issue persists. Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. On the same screen, find your Apple Pencil under My Devices. If you find it, tap Information icon. Then tap Forget this Device.
  3. Connect your Apple Pencil into your iPad and tap the Pair button when it appears after a few seconds.

We also recommend updating your iPad to the latest version of iPadOS if it's not already updated. Updating can sometimes resolve issues like this. Here are the steps if needed: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support.

If the issue persists, contact Apple Support to look into this further here: Get Support.

Take care.
