I don't have an iphone how do I just subscribe with an ipad? Ridiculous set up for customers that want to use this app!

In addition, it won't let me download the app on my ipad because it tells me that the features are not compatible. It's a 9th generation and I just updated the OS to 16.5.1. Then it tells me that the app in a different area IS compatible.
