AirPods Pro 2 case plays a descending tone when I open it.
Hello,
The sooner I get an answer for this, the better.
I have a set of AirPods Pro second generation. Just an hour ago, they were serving me extremely well.
However, I tried to use them about twenty minutes ago, and the right one was not turning on. My devices were assuring me that both AirPods had full battery.
I cleaned out the AirPods, nothing. I considered cleaning the case, but then thought differently as it was clear that both AirPods were charging. The right one, however, was not turning on.
I settled on resetting my AirPods. And this is where the problems began.
I held the button as normal on the case until I heard three bleeps (I'm blind, so can't see the light.) I then released the button, and waited. And waited... And then a little longer, and heard no sound. I thought that was curious, but shut the case and reopened it. Instead of hearing the normal tone to tell me it was ready to pair, I heard a descending one that I had never heard before, but sounded like an error of some kind (see attached voiced recording. Please note that there will be some background noise so I hope that the sound is good enough.)
I tried looking up this tone but could not find any post relating to it. I was going to contact apple, but they demanded to have my serial number. By this point, I had unpaired the AirPods, so I don't know my serial number as I can't see it on the case!!!
What can I do about this? Do I need to take my AirPods into an Apple Store tomorrow? I wouldn't want a replacement, but if I absolutely had to, I have Apple Care Plus, so that wouldn't cause a problem.
It was merely an hour ago that these were working so well, and I can't believe they've broken like this now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Tobias
