Apple Watch sleep

I’m not sure if Apple Watch will track my sleep cycles when I am only able to put a bedtime and not a wake time.

Make sure you’re using the latest version of watchOS.

Also don’t change the time of Wake Up to when you woke up. Apple Watch can detect this. If you’re awake just turn off the Sleep Focus more and alarm and go about your day. You will receive a notification on your iPhone when the Sleep Data is added (it’ll say something like you hit your sleep goal).

To my knowledge, the Sleep Cycles don’t get updated into the Health app right away.

For example, I wake up always around 7/8am, but on weekends my Wake Up time is 10am. When I’m actually up and ready to move I’ll just turn off my Sleep Focus mode and go about my day. In a few hours the notification will appear saying I reached my goal or not (because it just checks the total time) and then I look at the Health app to see what happened last night.

That's an interesting fact, I thought Apple Watch tracked it regardless if this was set or not. You learn something new every day.

One step you can take is setting your Wake Up time to a time where you know you'll wake up naturally by that point, say 11am or whatever works for you. The only downside is obviously you won't get the alarm and you'll have to remember to turn this off and tap on Skip Alarm when you wake up.

Everyone usual has a sleep cycle where they always wake up at a certain time. Maybe switch it to like 30mins to an hour past the latest you've ever waken up?

Apple Watch did not track sleep cycles such as rem, core, etc when I went to sleep last night. The night before however, Apple Watch did track my sleep cycles because I put a bed time and a wake time. My concern is that on some nights I only want to put a bedtime because I like to wake up naturally, so I am not able to put a wake time. Without the wake time and with only the bed time, will Apple Watch still track my sleep cycles such as rem, core, etc.
