Canon MF642cd driver is installed by printer says offline

I have an Canon Color ImageClass MR642 the driver is installed and I was printing, now it says offline and won't print. what should I do


iMac 27″, macOS 11.7

Power down the printer, and power it back on.


Reconfigure Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Printers if necessary. When you do, add it holding the Option key. This only works if your printer is clearly on the same WiFi or connected via USB. This runs the open source driver installer.


You could redownload the regular driver from Canon's support website if all else fails.
