How to get my Canon TR4522 series printer back online?

The Canon TR4522 printer is used on our network. I used the printer often, then got a low ink alert and the printer wouldn't print. My husband can print from his Windows 11 PC. From my iMac I get Offline, Default.

I tried downloading new driver software but I got a message that the file is corrupt.

Any suggestions?

iMac 27″, macOS 10.13

Hi,

The Canon TR4522 is a model supporting Apple's AirPrint technology.

About AirPrint - Apple Support

It should be possible to use the printer with AirPrint, without an additional printer driver, provided that the printer and the iMac are on the same network (Wi-Fi router).

See also the following AirPrint guide from Canon UK (for similar models, such as the TR4550):

Are you using the macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) mentioned in the equipment line?

You may want to try resetting the printing system and re-adding the printer:

Reset the Mac printing system to solve a problem – Apple Support (UK)

Add a printer on Mac – Apple Support (UK)

If necessary, try a power-cycle sequence:

Power off the Wi-Fi router, the printer, the iMac, and all other computers and devices. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on the iMac. Finally, power on all other computers and devices.
