Why no older Yahoo mail in my Mac Mail or IOS mail

I have 21,000 emails on my yahoo inbox going back over 10 years. It is my main email address.

In my Mac Mail (MBA running ventura) inbox there are only 9,957, going back only 2 and bit years.

My sent box aligns better with 9,646 in Yahoo and 9,625 in Mac Mail.

I've deleted the account and reloaded. During that process in the activity window you can see it downloading 20,000+ emails but still the inbox display is only 9,957. As it is in my iPhone and Ipad???

Is there some display limit in MacOS or IOS???

FWIW, looking around the internet there doesn't seem to be a limit on the number of emails other than possible storage limitations.

I found this link which has a possible solution.

I'm not sure if this is a Yahoo problem or an Apple issue. Clearly you can mac mail downloading the 20,000 messages but only displaying 10,000. Suggests apple issue and other have had similar experiences.

I conducted a trial, I migrated my yahoo mail box to Gmail (they have a handy tool in Gmail to do that....useful as a back up for my yahoo mailbox) and added Gmail to my mac. It also downloaded 20,000 messages and displayed the whole lot in a seperate folder (??...not the main inbox, not sure how to search that folder yet as its not a mailbox. Nothing is easy). That suggests a Yahoo problem????
