Is there a way to open an Mp3 file that is in the "Files" folder, within iTunes on an iPhone?

Hello,

I'd like to be able to email some Mp3 files (which I composed myself so it's all legal) to my friend and for him to be able to open them in iTunes on his iPhone (so he can make playlists etc).

Is this possible?

I've tried it on my own iPhone to see if it works.

I've so far been able to download an Mp3 file from my emails on my iPhone and I've noticed it is saved to the "Files" folder.

But I haven't yet found a way to open the file then within iTunes on my iPhone. There doesn't seem to be any option.

My friend doesn't sync his Phone up to a computer so this seems like the only way he could get the music onto his phone. But if there is any other way I'd be grateful to hear it.

Thanks for any help!

Kind Regards,

Sarah

I just have another question about this if that's ok.

So I imported a CD of tunes to my iTunes app on my computer.

It converted them to MPEG-4 format.

I then tried again to email one of them to my phone but still there was no option to open it within iTunes.

So looking at the next option:

Is it possible to sync just one playlist from my computer to his phone?

I'm used to syncing music from my PC with my own phone but if I did it with his would it override any music he has on his phone already (e.g Purchased Music)?

Here's what I'm thinking of doing (see screenshot):

I would select "Selected playlists, artist, albums, and genres"

Then I would check the playlist I want to sync up to his phone e.g "1. Example Playlist".

Then I guess if I made sure the "Purchased" playlist was unchecked would that make sure I don't override his purchases on his phone?

Thanks for your help!
