Removing Apple Pay from Uber

I followed your steps completely and they did work.

But as soon as I readded the cards to my apple wallet, the 'wallet pay' option reappeared back in to my Uber app ...

Is there a way to stop Uber accessing my ApplePay wallet?

Jeff Donald, I don’t think you have understood our issue. It doesn’t let you “pick”. If you have ever used Apple Pay even once in the Uber app, from then on, it will always lock into Apple Pay even when you don’t want it to. There doesn’t seem to be any way to modify this setting, which is very strange. I don’t like being forced to do something by an app, and I don’t understand why Apple would allow that. The only solution seems to be to disactivate Apple Pay entirely, which I have done. It’s a shame, because I was enjoying Apple Pay for other uses — but I need Uber for work, so I have been forced to keep Uber and give up Apple Pay.

I’m looking at the app right now on my Apple iPhone, and what you say just isn’t the case. If you have EVER previously used Apple Pay in the Uber app, it no longer gives you the option of picking. It defaults to Apple Pay without the option. Try it yourself

Contact Uber support and voice your concerns. Apple makes API’s available to all developers and if the developer isn’t violating Apple’s terms & conditions for developers, vote with your pocketbook and use another ride share service such as Lyft.

so @apple.com, is there a way to remove UBER's access to my iphone wallet?

Uber only access the Wallet for Apple Pay if you choose Apple Pay in the payment section. Just don’t pick Apple Pay when paying for your ride.

You only have to delete cards from Apple Pay and it will remove from Uber.
