Connect 27" Apple Cinema Display to 2023 Mac Mini
So I have this 2023 Mac Mini M2 Pro and I'd like to connect it to my 2010 27" Apple Cinema Display, which uses Mini-DisplayPort.
I know that there's a USB-C solution out there that seems to work, but I was wondering if there was a way to use HDMI properly. The reason being that I need the USB/Thunderbolt ports (a hub is no solution either, as I need the full bandwidth of those ports).
That's the reason I'd really like to use the HDMI port if possible.
Right now I'm using a converter/an adapter from Mini-DisplayPort to HDMI, but it's quite glitchy. You can not change the brightness of the screen or the volume. And if you try it, the screen starts blinking black.
The screen also needs quite some time to wake up from sleep when you click the mouse. I think there was other issues as well.
I'm not sure if it's the cable that I got, or simply the HDMI technology.
Is anyone using a recent Mac with the 27" Cinema Display with HDMI (!) and could link me to a solution that is clean and that works, and where all features like volume and brightness settings work, as well as having full resolution?
Thanks so much! It would be a huge help. Thanks!
