What other options do I have to try fixing it?

Me too. Woke up this morning and watch had not charged up. Just digital time and red charging symbol. Clearly something weird is going on.... I'll try the complete battery drain route and hope......
My new AW6, product red, 44, out of the box today - does not start up after 7 hours of charge.
i always buy older models (no matter what) and it never took that long to make a first start.
i use only original accessories / charger / cable
watch and charger gets hot a bit …this is the only sign that ‘something’ works.
Shop says - give it more try to charge.
Any advices?
I did all what is described here - nothing helps.
i leave if on charge … for more
Who did you buy the watch from? Apple discontinued sales of the Watch 6 in 2021. If that watch has been sitting on a shelf for more than 2 years, it's possible the battery has died. If you leave a lithium ion battery without charge for too long, it may stop working completely.
Take it back to wherever you got it.
If you want older models of Apple products, take a look at the Apple Refurbished Store. Everything there is refurbished by Apple and comes with the same warranty as new.

it’s new - unused - out of the box / why would they fee me for replacement if it does not function ?
If the shop will replace the battery, that's great. As far as Apple is concerned, though, the watch is no long under warranty as they sold it to the reseller years ago.
Ive bought it locally (Israel) at the official reseller …it was my fave color and good price / so I’ve decided to buy.
I’ll see what I do if it won’t start up by tomorrow.
tx
I think you can still have Apple replace the battery for a fee.
