So your AirPods may not have been completely set up to use "Find My" when you lost them:

If "Find My" was not turned on / active, there may be no easy way to locate the AirPods.

Eg: You may need to physically go back to where you last saw them, and retrace your steps, eg: checking in stores, lost and found, etc., re-visiting places you could have left them, and asking. You could report them lost to local police, in case someone turns them in.
