Push Notifications Using Absurd Amount of Data, Battery Draining Faster Than Ever

Hello, so my grandfather recently got the new iPhone 14, since he’s gotten the new phone, within 5 days his “Push Notifications” have used over 3.1GB of cellular data. He has 0 notifications allowed other than iMessage, Facetime and his security system. I have done digging into multiple threads on this website as well as other Question/Answer boards and can’t seem to find an answer that can solve this problem. He is also updated to the latest software and has gone through a warranty replacement with Verizon once already. The issue is still persistent. Can someone help?

Hi YaredJoder,

We'd like to share some helpful information regarding data use. With notifications, they are pushed from the application in relation, and based on what you shared, this may be background activity. We recommend looking over Use cellular data on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support you can further inspect the breakdown of data to further help make adjustments. If you don't find an answer there, you can further contact Apple Support as this is not looking like intended behavior: Get Support

Already have contacted apple support, after an hour long call and running diagnostics on the phone, the apple tech support proclaimed that the phone had no issues and was operating fine. They then instructed me to contact the service provider, to which I then did and went through 3 Verizon Technical Support Representatives and a Verizon Tech Support Supervisor, to which they then transferred me back to Apple Support. So each place I call, passes me back and forth.
