Can I link a second iPhone to an AirTag?

AirTag is tied to an Apple ID, so you can use several iPhone and iPad devices all with the same Apple ID with an AirTag, but not an iPhone associated with a second Apple ID.

AirTags are associated with one Apple ID. Each person requires her/his own, unique Apple ID.

At the moment an AirTag can only be linked to one Apple ID.

Apple has announced that with iOS 17, you will be able to share air tag locations with others. Coming this fall.

Verify that the same Apple ID is used on both, log out of iCloud at the top of Settings and then log back in, and then check with Apple.
