iPhone Control Center Remote Connects Once To Apple TV Then Needs Restarting

Hi,

I've seen similar questions here, however, the following issue persists and might be different than others. Months ago, the iPhone Control Center remote connects one time to the Apple TV device then after the screen locks or I switch to another iPhone app then back, will not connect to Apple TV until I restart the phone then it works one time then requires a restart to work again, etc.

The iPhone is an iPhone 7 and has 15.7.4. The Apple TV has 16.5. The iPhone connects via Bluetooth. This issue will happen with iPhone being the only device that connects to the Apple TV. The iPhone remote stopped working last year so the iPhone is the only option for now.

Any ideas? This is a bit frustrating. Thanks!
