sound problem

I have a sound problem on my iPhone 14 Pro with IOS version 16.6. Periodically I have no sound from various apps including alarms, messages, camera, games, etc. By turning Bluetooth off and on again the problem is solved. This seems to be a known problem. My question, is there anything being done about this? Is there any other way to ensure my alarm is going to work in the morning?

Hey Steve1956,

We'll be happy to help this audio issue that you're having. Since the issue is resolved when toggling Bluetooth, try waiting for the issue to occur again and instead go to Settings > Bluetooth and see if the audio is connecting to a Bluetooth device. If it is, click the "i" button to forget the device so that it stop automatically trying to connect to it. Here's more information about this: Pair a third-party Bluetooth accessory with your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Let us know how that goes!

Hi Steve1956,

You may be able to switch the audio source to your iPhone by doing the following:

1. Open Control Center on your iPhoneiPad, or iPod touch.
2. Touch and hold the audio card in the upper-right corner of Control Center to control audio.
3. Tap , then choose the device that you want from the list.

While the title of that article says AirPods, you should be able to select your iPhone from that list.

We hope that helps.

Take care.

Yes my I-phone was connected to my desktop. When I went to my desktop and removed the Bluetooth connection to the i-phone the sound came back on the i-phone.

To make sure that was the problem I forgot the desktop and then re-paired them again and the sound stopped working on my phone again.

I have the same problem when I am away from the desktop so I assume it is with my Garmin unit which is also paired to the i-phone and in use at the same time. How to I get around this. I need multiple devices connected to the i-phone at the same time. And I need the sound to work at the same time?

OK, holding the audio card shows the Bluetooth icon and the words of my desktop. Ignoring the desktop brings the audio control back to the phone. So now I know how to find the reason for the problem. But, that does not stop the problem from happening.. I still have to toggle Bluetooth every night if I want my alarm to sound off in the morning? And I have to toggle Bluetooth every time I get off my motorcycle to shut down the Garmin GPS before I start taking pictures. Otherwise I don't hear the camera shutter. When is Apple going to fix this?
