Safari Web Notifications (especially for WhatsApp) on the iPad.

Has anyone had any success with enabling web notifications for WhatsApp on the iPad?

Of course in iPadOS 16, Apple rolled out Safari web notifications. When they did this, I followed the instructions and as a test, enabled web notifications for Twitter and WhatsApp. The Twitter web notifications seemed to work fine. But they have not worked (at least for me) for WhatApp. I am still missing timely WhatsApp notifications.

What I have noticed is that I have to actually go to WhatsApp Web on my Home Screen, open it up, and if there are new messages waiting for me that I have not read, THEN I will see the badge indicating how many messages. However, I am not receiving any notifications and seeing the badge with the number of new notifications seems to only work IF I open up WhatsApp web first.

Anyway, since the Twitter web notifications seemed to work fine when I tested it, I'm guessing this is a WhatsApp, not Apple, issue and that WhatsApp is somehow preventing web notifications on iPads.

Thoughts? Is anyone else experiencing this?
