YouTube suddenly pauses when I switch to another tab group

Anyone here knows why YouTube always pause whatever it is I'm playing when I move to another tab group in Safari? To be frank, this is really starting to annoy me.

video playback skips a few minutes when user doesn't interact with paused player in Safari Whenever I pause the video and go to another tab, when I go back to the video and click play, it will skip several minutes ahead, if not more than a dozen depending on how long I leave it “paused". This happens only in Safari (using the latest build released with MacOS Ventura) when I playback videos on Crunchyroll, Udemy or Platzi video players. This issue comes from a few safari versions ago (I can reproduce this issue since Safari 14) Steps to reproduce: Play any video for a minute and pause Open a new tab, wait 5-20 minutes Go back to the tab with video Click play Expected result: Video starts to play from the timestamp where it was paused Actual result: Video starts to play from wrong timestamp (where you pause + time you was absent). Noting that if you use Chrome or Firefox user agent within Safari, video players of mentioned websites works as expected.

Safari Youtube Troubleshoot Hi. This started happening today, but when I search something up on YouTube in Safari, only a sliver of the screen shows up, as if a black box is covering the rest of the search results. I tried using chrome, and it works perfectly fine there, so this issue is happening only on Safari. After I use the search bar to search something on YouTube, I'm basically unable to view the search results, as a black screen is covering specifically the search results. As you can see here, only the very very top of the search results is viewable for me, and everything else is black, preventing me from doing anything. Is there a fix to this problem?

Youtube comments/sidebar/menu under profile picture will not load on safari Hi, when i am accessig youtube on safari, my comments, sidebar, and the menu under my profile picture profile picture will not load. This is only happenning when I am logged in to my account, if I am logged out it seems to be working fine. Additionally, my account is working on other browsers. I tried removing cookies on safari and deleting my watch history on my youtube account, but nothing seems to work

Pinning a tab doesn't work either. I agree that this is very annoying and unnecessary as other browsers don't do this. This is another reason to stop using Safari.

It's the DUMBEST thing, but if you pin the tab, the audio/video won't pause when you switch tab groups.

Seriously though, why are Safari tabs so bad and obtuse? JFC even MS Edge does it SO much better. Get your **** together Apple.
