YouTube suddenly pauses when I switch to another tab group

Anyone here knows why YouTube always pause whatever it is I'm playing when I move to another tab group in Safari? To be frank, this is really starting to annoy me.

It's the DUMBEST thing, but if you pin the tab, the audio/video won't pause when you switch tab groups.

Seriously though, why are Safari tabs so bad and obtuse? JFC even MS Edge does it SO much better. Get your **** together Apple.
