Good Day All,
Im having downloading excel files, it saves them as a name.xlsx.download - kind is safari download and it does not want to be renamed or opened by excel, I can't save any excel files, this started after my update of my Mac tot the MACOS Ventura 13.4.1, I have not changed any settings, please can someone help me to fix this, it is urgent.

The .download suffix is applied when the download is still in progress.
It should disappear when completed.
If you click the downloads button in Safari toolbar, does it show as a completed download - showing a magnifying glass, and the correct name - or with an orange reload indicator, or some error?
Try deleting ".download" from the end of the file name and see if they open. I don't know why it has .download added to the end of the name. Where are you downloading them from?
So there are problems with downloading files.
Do you have any vpn? Any antivirus or "cleaners"?
Try making a download while running in Safe Mode. Does that come through?
See if the same thing happens while your Mac is in Safe Mode.

Sounds like the files fail to download correctly.
Hi, i have tried, you cant edit or remame the file! This is happening to all my files! Not just excel on safari and it can be via bank/ accouting program etc
It sais operation couldn’t be completed and operation not permitted! Even after the download it stays the same with the .download!
it happens with, pdf, word, excel etc
Not sure how to go into safe mode, have never done it before
