Blue bubbles replaced by green ones!

I had been sending and receiving iMessages (blue bubbles) with no problem but suddenly, sending them to one particular contact (for whom they were previously blue), they turned green. I have checked the settings of my iPhone that iMessage is still activated and is! I would like to know why this happened and how to revert to blue iMessages for this particular contact who also has an iPhone not Android. For all my other contacts, the bubbles are blue and have presented no problem!

iPhone X, iOS 16

I had tried rebooting my phone earlier in the day but to no avail. Out of sheer desperation, I suggested the contact try rebooting his phone. And this solved the problem! My messages to him are now showing in blue not green.

Then the issue is on their end and not yours if you can imessage other iphones.

said person is either in an area with a weak wifi or cellular signal or has imessage turned off.

Thank you for taking time to answer. I wish it were that simple. But the contact does have iMessage turned on and the wifi has never been a problem before!

Well the wifi or cell data is a problem now. As stated if you can imessage everyone of your contacts that has an iphone except this person, then the issue is on their end, not yours.

There is nothing for you to troubleshoot.
