MacPro 13.4.1 - iMessage auto-capitalization

I have searched all the settings and found the three locations in the settings and iMessage is still not capitalizing.

In fact it doesn't seem to capitalize anywhere.

iMessage is the only place I want to correct. I'm about to try a restart to see if that helps after adjusting settings, but don't have much faith it will help.

Hi bigpete5210,

Thanks for posting. We'd like to assist. While there's not a setting specific to Messages regarding capitalization, you should be able to set this by clicking Apple menu () > System Settings > Keyboard. Then next to "Input Sources" click the "Edit" box and make sure that "Capitalize words automatically" is on.

We saw that you mentioned you've checked a few settings and were about to try restarting. If the setting above is one that you already checked and the issue persists after the restart, let us know.

Take care.

Hello bigpete5210,

Let's rule out any concerns regarding other software that might be contributing to this by starting your Mac in safe mode: Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support

Once in safe mode, verify those same settings you checked are still active and try to see if words capitalize like normal. If they do, restart your Mac to go back into normal mode and try again.

Thanks and have a wonderful day.
