Live Auto vs. On -- Difference?? Repeating a question that was not answered by the Apple Article referenced.

I had hoped that this feature would only take Live Photos when the subject is moving. But even if I take a landscape shot with a tripod it still takes Live Photos rather then (storage space saving) still ones.

What is the difference between "live auto" and "live on"?

So far I can not find the difference and I would be very happy for any information on this.

Since iPhone 11, Apple added Live Auto, which simply lets the phone decide if there is enough movement to capture a Live Photo. If the phone doesn't see any movement, it likely won't take a Live Photo. If Live Photo is off, it won't take a Live Photo. If it is on (not in Auto Live), it will take a live photo even if no movement is detected by the camera.
