Why won't my iPhone ring since the last update?

I just updated to IOS 17.1.2 and my iPhone 12 Pro Max no longer makes audible rings. I just vibrates when calls come in. Checked all the settings. How do I go back one revision?

Lol that’s ridiculous. Just cus all steps have been taken don’t mean someone has a broken phone. It could very well be a glitch with the carrier, the phone itself or whoever’s calling carrier, phone, etc.

LOL, the list INCLUDES glitch with the carrier, with whoever’s calling, etc. I guess you didn’t actually read the list before posting.

17.1.2 Is it critical security update. I’m not sure what’s causing your issue, and I’m sympathetic to your frustration, but I would urge you not to attempt resolution by opting to expose yourself to a major security vulnerability.

The first response I see is not the response you are referring to. The first response in this thread as it is displaying to me is the unhelpful "Anyone else wish they could vote me too?"

Is there another way you could direct us to the response you want us to see?

Thank you Lawrence Finch, your list has finally included something I wasn’t aware of, the setting to Silence Unknown Callers and you clearly note how to find it. Thank you, it has been driving me crazy calls I need being silenced. How that got switched to on I have no idea but thanks to your list it’s sorted. 👍👍👍

I’m experiencing same issue, I have iPhone 12 Pro Max it was all fine suddenly after the update of iOS 17 it started to have this issue of ringing some time it rings sometimes it doesn’t and bloody nothing works! Hundreds of the videos I’ve seen to resolve it, but still no help. And every setting is as it like before! Apple needs to fix this ASAP!!!!!

I am push the button to turn it down then turn it back up and it keeps saying at the top in red that is silenced. I went through every mode went through YouTube did everything it said why is my ringer not working and not getting very important, important phone calls that I have to have. How do I fix this must be done now.

This does not work. Phone still refuses to ring. This is an iPhone problem, not a carrier issue. My wife has a Samsung phone on the same network and we will be sitting next to each other. Her phone will ring and my iPhone wont.

I carefully went through each of the outlined steps. Still doesn’t notify with ring or text sounds. Happened after I updated this past weekend. My husband’s phone is doing the same thing since he updated. Thinking apple sent out a dud upgrade.

Yes I did but still no calls ringing.
