Why won't my iPhone ring since the last update?

It could also be the “Elephant in the Room” whom everyone seems to presume innocent, in this whole happenstance.

SW developers are less than perfect people, too. They typically work long hours, and get tired, then make mistakes. They’ll mark things as “fixed” when still broken, etc. If you think Apple’s developers are immune to this, then I’ve got plenty of swamp land to sell you. (But no title, because you don’t need it :-)

Calls not ringing during scenarios of “continuity” with MacBooks or iPads…that’s a highly “plausible” potential bug, because it’s one that is VERY challenging for Apple to test against (for every potential nuanced scenario).

So let’s stop blaming “everything” except the SW developers, whom are typically where such blame lies, when a SW “update” comes along and then a mountain of anomalies starts flying right afterwards.

Yes I did but still no calls ringing.

That was happening to me too, but I finally figured it out!

I had a do not disturb schedule of 9 PM to 5 AM. After my upgrade, it was switched to 9 AM to 5 PM. I switched it back to the way I wanted it and my calls are “coming through”.

Same issue, missed many calls. Affected all my Apple devices. None would ring. Spent sometime with Apple support and couldn't resolve

So stared to figure this out on my own. When I powered off my Apple Watch all devices would ring again so told me the Apple Watch was the issue causing it

Here is my fix I discovered

• Open Apple Watch app on iPhone
• Open Gestures
• Toggle off/disable "Cover to Mute"
• Devices should now ring again

All should now be fixed. Once I toggled off "Cover to Mute" my iPhone, iPad, iMac and iPad started to ring on an incoming call.

As soon as I enable "Cover to Mute" no Apple devices would ring

To silence an incoming call now on your watch just press the crown

Lol that’s ridiculous. Just cus all steps have been taken don’t mean someone has a broken phone. It could very well be a glitch with the carrier, the phone itself or whoever’s calling carrier, phone, etc.

The first response I see is not the response you are referring to. The first response in this thread as it is displaying to me is the unhelpful "Anyone else wish they could vote me too?"

Is there another way you could direct us to the response you want us to see?

If you're not hearing a ring, it could be due to your phone's focus settings. From your iPhone Settings, select Focus and check the following: Make sure Do Not Disturb mode is off. For other Focus modes, make sure they are off, or add Dialpad as an Allowed Notifications app to that focus mode.

Wow! Thank you for your helpful post. The very first step, checking the mute switch, solved my problem. I didn’t even know it was there! I had to peel back my case to get to it, and sure enough, it was in the wrong position.

It sounds as if you have Focus/Do Not Disturb enabled and set to allow numbers that call back within three minutes to ring through.

To turn off Focus, pull down the Control Center and tap on the circular picture on the Focus button. Once the button says "Focus," you'll know it's turned off.

To make sure it doesn't get turned on again when you don't want it on, go to Settings>Focus and tap on each focus. Delete any ones you don't need. For the ones you're keeping, remove any schedules or smart activations.
