iTalk by Griffin is no longer working --How do I recover all my saved recordings?

I need to recover voice/sound recordings I made using iTalk by Griffin, which no longer works after I updated my OS. I thought deleting the software and redownloading it would help but the software itself is no longer available. Now, I can't find 62 gigabytes of recordings that were on my iPhone until 30 minutes ago. HELP PLEASE!

If you encounter any challenges with third-party applications or a particular website, I recommend reaching out directly to the respective app developer or site publisher/host for further assistance. Here is how

Did you have any luck? I too am freaking out. Voice messages I kept from my late husband were stored in the iTalk app and I’m devastated that they’re gone. 😭 Just went to open app to listen to them and it’s gone! Please let me know if you found out how to get your recordings back.

The Apple Community thread to which I posted a link seemed to describe ways in which you can recover your recordings, with the aid of a Mac or PC. Some posts talked about using a third-party program called iMazing; another claimed that you could retrieve the recordings using iTunes (now Finder) synchronization.

retrieve files from iTalk Recorder - Apple Community

All of the recovery methods outlined in the thread depend on the app, and its associated data files, still being present on your phone. (The associated data files being the ones containing your recordings.)

So they wouldn't help the OP (who says she deleted the app), but if you haven't deleted the app, they might help you.

[EDIT: This only matters if the data is still available and you can transfer it to a Mac or PC. I saw "Griffin" and made an immediate, incorrect association with the Mac, for which they used to sell products.]

What type of files were they?

If the software saved the recordings using some fairly standard audio format – e.g., .MP3, .AAC, .WAV, .AIFF – then the recordings might be usable even if the application that made them (and organized them for you) does not work on the newer version of macOS.

You might be able to import them into iTunes/Music or even play them using Quick Look in the Finder.

Can you please elaborate on how to do it with Quick Look in the Finder?
Nothing else I have tried seems to work. Thanks!

You can't play the recordings with Quick Look in the Finder, unless you have already recovered them from the iPhone. Since your post is dated March 27, 2024, you must have seen the part of my earlier post in the thread which said (emphasis mine):

@Servant of Cats - thanks for your reply. I had indeed seen your earlier post in the thread. And yes, the data should still be available on my iphone (I am not the OP, in case my question confused you). I was reacting to your sentence "You might be able to import them into iTunes/Music or even play them using Quick Look in the Finder."

So far, none of the possible solutions mentioned in this entire thread have worked for me, so I'm at a loss. Your remark that my files could be played in the Finder gave me a spark of hope, but I guess I'll just have to resign myself to losing really important audio files.
