How did you acquire the installer?


Is the Mac you are doing this on the same one you need to reinstall macOS on? If so, then why do you need to reinstall macOS on it? Maybe the reason for the reinstall is the same as why this process is failing.


Is this error being shown in the Terminal app when you use the "createinstallmedia" command? If not, where you are seeing this error message?
