Text Android on WiFi iPad

I purchased a Wi-Fi only iPad. I read somewhere that I can’t iMessage Android users from the Wi-Fi only iPad, but my question is, why can I text Android users from my MacBook and not my Wi-Fi only iPad? The MacBook is only connected to Wi-Fi, so why does it work on there and not my iPad?

You will need an iPhone with cellular service

Both the iPad and the iPhone will need to be signed in on the same iCloud/apple account

The cellphone will need to be powered ON (I believe this was the primary reason my iPad wasn't able to send messages via my iPhone number or associated emails)

On both devices, make sure iMessage is toggled on. Settings > Messages > iMessage.

As far as I tested, the rest of the settings don't matter. I also tested this on my old wi-fi only iPad that hadn't been updated in 2 years and the same was true. I only noticed this texting issue on my iPads when I let the iPhone die (which was often). Your issue may be more complicated but maybe not! And I hope this helps

Text message forwarding is not available in my iPhone 13 message settings

Try this: Sign out of iMessage on all of your devices. Restart them. Make sure they are all logged into the same Apple ID and connected to the same WiFi network. Log back into iMessage on your iPhone. Once activation is complete, log back in on your iPad. Once it has activated, go back to the phone. You should be able to access Text Message forwarding using the directions LotusPilot provided.
