I found this explanation online;
"It is not possible to use Google Play Gift Cards on an iPhone. This is because the Google Play Gift Card only works on Android systems. The iPhone uses an iOS system, meaning the two cannot interconnect. Therefore, there is no direct way you can use the gift card on an iPhone."
