I have a iPad Pro with the Apple Magic Keyboard, I was coming from a MacBook a while back and when I would close applications I would always hit the CMD + Q but that shortcut does not work on iPadOS (16.5.1) and I’m curious if there is another shortcut that I’m not aware of?

I don't think iOS really quits apps like MacOS does, you usually just go back to the home screen via Command H
