How to change my email address from @mac to @icloud.com?

When responding to an email, why does my address shows as @Mac, and how do I change it to @icloud.com?

How to change the primary email ddress shown on Icloud that has @icloud.com I want to change the primary address of Icloud.com, that ends in icloud.com, but is not my Apple ID primary address. When I go to the apple id page, under account, these same email address are shown as an Alias (not as primary) and changing is not allowed in the dashboard.

I knew the Communities COULD NOT answer my question.
