Bluetooth and usb audio stops playing when car is in motion. Starts back up when vehicle is stopped. Then after awhile stops working completely but shows that it’s playing and connected.

Noticed my radio not working last night even though the display on the radio showed my iPhone 12 was connected and audio was playing, however no audible sound was coming out of my speakers, as soon as I pulled into my driveway the audio came back.. It seems to be related to motion or Wi-Fi connection and I need this resolved ASAP, as I only drive while listening to music and it is very dangerous trying to mess around with while on the road. Tried updating my phone, restarting it, and forgetting the device, and none have resolved the issue.

iPhone 12, iOS 16

The issue you described with Bluetooth and USB audio in your car could have various causes. Here are some potential explanations and troubleshooting steps:

  1. Interference: When the car is in motion, it's possible that there could be interference from other electronic devices or signals, causing the audio to stop or become unstable. Make sure there are no other devices emitting strong wireless signals near your car's audio system.
  2. Connection Issues: The movement of the car might cause intermittent connectivity issues between your phone or USB device and the car's audio system. Try re-pairing your phone via Bluetooth or reconnecting the USB cable to ensure a stable connection.
  3. Power Saving Settings: Some car audio systems have power-saving features that might interrupt audio playback when the vehicle is in motion to conserve battery. Check the settings to see if there's an option related to this.
  4. Compatibility: Ensure that your phone or USB device is compatible with your car's audio system. Check the car's manual or the manufacturer's website for a list of compatible devices.
  5. Faulty USB Cable: If you are using a USB cable to connect your device, it's possible that the cable is damaged or faulty. Try using a different cable to see if that resolves the issue.

If you've tried the above troubleshooting steps and the problem persists, it may be best to reach out to the car manufacturer or a professional car audio technician for further assistance. They can diagnose the problem accurately and provide a solution.
