IPHONE 15 PRO BLUETOOTH CONNECTION ISSUES

Can't keep a constant bluetooth connection with an older car radio. Will work after going through the process of pairing with the Alpine device. But won't reconnect when going back to the car later for the drive home. Need to do the pairing drill over again which includes forgetting the Alpine device and restarting the iphone. Never had this problem with all the other iphone models used since 2010. Spoke to a tech person and followed their advice which included wiping the phone clean and had no luck. Have had the phone less then a week and wish I didn't give up my iphone 12. Battery seems to be worse on this one as well. Wasting too much time with the repairing and tech contact, might need to return the phone and get an older version. Anybody have a solution before I do?

  1. Check for Alpine Firmware Updates: Though less likely, some car radios have firmware updates that can improve Bluetooth compatibility. Check your Alpine device's manual or manufacturer's website to see if an update is available.
  2. Disable Wi-Fi Calling: In some cases, Wi-Fi calling can interfere with Bluetooth connectivity. Try turning it off (Settings > Phone > Wi-Fi Calling) and see if that makes a difference.
  3. Reset Network Settings: Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings: Only network settings are removed.
    1. When you reset network settings, previously used networks and VPN settings that weren’t installed by a configuration profile or mobile device management (MDM) are removed. Wi-Fi is turned off and then back on, disconnecting you from any network you’re on. The Wi-Fi and Ask to Join Networks settings remain turned on.
    2. To remove VPN settings installed by a configuration profile, go to Settings > General > Profiles & Device Management, select the configuration profile, then tap Remove Profile. This also removes other settings and accounts provided by the profile. See Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone in this guide.
    3. To remove network settings installed by MDM, go to Settings > General > Profiles & Device Management, select the management, then tap Remove Management. This also removes other settings and certificates provided by MDM. See “Mobile device management (MDM)” in the iOS Deployment Reference.
    4. Reset your Network Settings. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before.
  4. If the issue persists, you can try resetting all settings on your iPhone. This will not erase your data but will reset all personalized settings to their default values. Go to Settings > General > Transfer & Reset > Reset > Reset All Settings and confirm the action. Note that you will need to reconfigure your settings afterward. All settings—including network settings, the keyboard dictionary, the Home screen layout, location settings, privacy settings, and Apple Pay cards—are removed or reset to their defaults. No data or media are deleted.
    1. Reset All Settings: Return iPhone settings to their defaults - Apple Support:- Return iPhone settings to their defaults
    2. You can return settings to their defaults without erasing your content.
    3. If you want to save your settings, back up your iPhone before returning them to their defaults. For example, if you’re trying to solve a problem but returning settings to their defaults doesn’t help, you might want to restore your previous settings from a backup.
  5. Make sure you have the latest updates installed.

If any Apple tech people are seeing this, I found the only way for the iPhone 15 pro to pair with an older bluetooth car radio. Judging by a lot of forums online, many people are having the same issue. I welcome working with tech to try to solve the problem. Here's what I need to do every time I want to use the iPhone over an older Alpine car radio when starting the car because it never reconnects after ******** the car off. The iPhone has no issues connecting with Apple Watch, AirPods, or Car Play in a new car.

Turn Bluetooth Off > Forget this device > turn car on > turn bluetooth on > click car radio in other devices > pair with car radio.

Unfortunately I need to do this every tome or go back in time and use a USB-C to USB-A cable.

Putting this out there to hopefully help other people and for Apple to maybe come up with a solution.

Hello and thank you for this info. Unfortunately I have done all of this and still have issues. This radio does not have a firmware update, it's been in there for over 10 years. The only way for me to get the phone to work with this radio is to do a complete reset and repair every time I get in the car to drive. I turn the car off and park, have to do the process all over again. Bluetooth off, forget device etc. The other iPhone 14 in our home has none of these problems. Got in the car with it last night and it immediately connected. This is a big disappointment. The phone has no issues with Applewatch, AirPods, or CarPlay in our 2021 car.
